Hey guys,
So I was using my computer fairly regularly earlier, when all of a sudden it decided to turn itself off. Upon trying to restart it, it went straight into the system recovery options. Im not sure how to fix this. When booting, theres no response when I press F8 to boot into last good configuration, I've run all of the memory tests in the bios as well as the recovery tests and they all seem to come up Fine. Also, through the system image recovery, I can Access my files, so it doesn't look like its corrupted?ran chkdsks, seemed fine. Absolute worst comes to worst, I suppose I could copy my files this way onto another hdd and restore, but I'd REALLy prefer not to do that just because of the amount of data that is and the time it'd take.
Could it be a virus? I run wined fender fairly regularly and am generally pretty cognizant of that sort of stuff. I cant even restore because I've saved my restore points on an. External hard drive which I've leant to my friend for a while. Stupid, i know, didn't think id need it.
A few days ago, I formatted a partition that had an early version of Win 8 on it, could that be the problem? But I'm pretty sure I've rebooted since then.
Apologies for the spelling/formatting, I'm typing this on an iPad.
