Microsoft is gearing up to announce the successor to the Xbox 360 at E3 2012, and Crytek (Crysis developer) is already developing TimeSplitters 4 game for the next-gen of consoles. Specifications have not been finalised, but Crytek is using Microsoft's DirectX 11. The information was detailed to VideoGamer.com by a high-ranking industry source at Crytek, who stated that TimeSplitters 4 is currently being demonstrated internally, is being built with CryEngine 3, and was being shown privately in video form at E3 2011.
Earlier this month, Kotaku reported that the operating code name for the new console is Durango.
Today, a now-pulled Tweet from Crytek senior technical artist Sean Tracy seemingly (via The Verge) connects these two reports, saying, "Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London. So far, great swag and interesting talks."
