Well I finally ordered a new mobo for the build I did a few years ago. My mobo went kaput a few months ago, and I finally had the extra money to replace it. When it went down, I made sure it wasn’t the psu. Did the paperclip trick on the 20+ connecter. The PC would get a flicker of power then shut right back off. So I got the mobo in yesterday and put it in. Now it seems all LEDs come on, and all the fans (even the gpu fan)… but nothing else? Monitor doesn’t come on (yes it works with other stuff), no noise from the hd’s, just lights and fans. I used a multimeter on the cpu cable, and it’s getting 12v. So I’m certain my psu is fine. I tried pulling the bios battery and reseating everything. Could my old mobo have taken out my cpu with it? Maybe my new mobo from Newegg is DOA? But how can I know which?
