Asus Transformer finally gets Android 4.0 update

If you own the original Asus Transformer and have been pulling your hair out for the last three months waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich to arrive, the company's Facebook page has good news: the OTA update is finally starting to roll out.
Back in December, Asus figured that ICS would be ready for the Transformer just shortly after theTransformer Prime update was green-lighted by Google. The date slipped a couple of times, and Asus just recently said that it would appear around the end of February or early March. Not as specific as you'd probably like, but at least it was something to shoot for.
Over in Taiwan, the light at the end of the tunnel has just gotten a whole lot brighter. The ICS update has started to trickle down to Transformer owners there, and one excited commenter from Hong Kong has reported his OTA success as well. Other anxious Asus fans have chimed in to find out when other regions will be able to get in on the action, but Asus has remained silent so far. The short version: it won't be much longer now that the bits have started flowing.
The cause for the repeated delays, Asus had said, was in getting approval from Google. Now that Asus has gotten ICS wrapped up for its Transformers, they can start preparing for the inevitable delays that will no doubt befall the upcoming arrival of Android 5.0 Jelly Bean on their tablets. The 5.0 update should be a lock for both devices considering Asus posted that they "take great pride in delivering on-going enhancements and support for products that are well into their life cycle."
