Today, January 13, 2015, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) mainstream support has ended and it has entered into extended support. Extended support means that Windows 7 will no longer be updated features wise. No new improvements will be made and there will be no more service packs. The free telephone support and online customer support has also been ended for the most popular operating system in the world.
Don't panic. Microsoft will continue to issue security fixes for Windows 7 SP1 until January 14, 2020.
