Three ex-Google engineers has created an "ultra tablet" with a magnetically attached keyboard and a kickstand that definitely borrowed the idea from Microsoft’s Surface tablet. They also created "Remix OS", a modified Android 4.4.2 OS with a taskbar to switch apps, windowed apps, and a look and feel of Windows 8.1 apps. Have a look at the email app from Remix OS below, which looks similar to Windows 8's email client.
Specifications:
The Ultra Tablet has 11.6-inch, 1920×1080 screen, a 1.8 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4+1 A15 processor, 2GB RAM, 64GB flash, 5MP front and back cameras, 2.4 and 5GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n, and an 8100 mAh battery, all in an 860 g package.
Remix tablet will be available in the US this year for $349 for the 16GB model.
