Apache releases OpenOffice 4 which brings exciting new features, enhancements and bug fixes. This major update of the open source Office suite features a new user interface, innovative new sidebar, 500 bug fixes, new language support, improvements in Microsoft Office interoperability, enhancements to drawing/graphics, performance improvements, etc.
Apache claims that "the new Sidebar makes better use of today's widescreen displays. Users may easily edit their document properties in-context, with the most-frequently needed controls available in panels in the Sidebar. Panels may be expanded or collapsed as needed."
