So, myself and about 3-4 others are working on a minecraft clone (as it is right now) that is done in Python and Pyglet.
Keep in mind, this development is done on Linux and Windows, and we have a few Mac peoples helping streamline the process for the Mac.
I run it in Windows, the die-hard optimize coders run it in Linux.
I was just wondering if any one would be interested in trying it not. As how it is Open Source, you can fork the code, and do your own edits, or even join in and help code the game.
Now, yes, i know, "Pics, or you are lying!"
Random snow-capped mountain
Growing the newly-implemented wheat.
Senic Skybox
PLEASE Keep in mind, this game is under heavy development. Not everything works, and as far as it being a complete game.. no. it has about 30 blocks so far, items, tools... but not every single thing. Texture pack support is .. iffy.
Anyway, just wondering.
You MUST have an OpenGL supported video card.
If you are interested, go here. Scroll down to the README. All instructions are there, easy to follow, for different OSes.
You will need to install Python 2.7.3 (or 4)
pyglet (see the windows installers for it specifically in the README)
OpenAL (sound is a base 3D)
and everything else should work from there.
