Windows Store now has over 50000 apps for Windows 8

There are now more than 50,000 Windows 8 apps available in the Windows Store according to the MetroStore Scanner, an unofficial source that tracks the apps submitted to the Windows Store.

Windows 8 was launched on October 26 last year with just 5,000 apps, but Microsoft promised to provide 100,000 apps within 90 days of Windows 8's release. Now 150 days have passed and Microsoft is still halfway to its goal.
