Snapshot sidebar on Bing.com appears when you enter popular search queries with photos, short biographies, and related information. Snapshot was started with movies, restaurants and hotels. Microsoft then expanded Snapshot with people, places, and things which are among the most common searches on Bing.
Today, Microsoft has expanded Snapshot to pull in more information from search patterns and social networks. For celebrities, Bing's sidebar will now include information from Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Klout, with each indicated by an icon below the name. Bing is adding more related information when searching for historical figures or places.
When you'll look for information on a new colleague, you’ll see things such as where they went to school, where they have worked as well as related searches for people.
