Windows 8 is getting popular amongst PC gamers. Steam users have been ditching Windows 7, XP and Vista and upgrading to Windows 8 since its launch. Windows 8 has now finally overtaken Windows XP in Steam hardware survey. Windows 8 had a combined market share of 9.63 percent in February, while Windows XP market share decreased to 9.33 percent.
With 55.48 percent of share, Windows 7 64-bit remained the number one operating system, followed by the 32-bit version with 13.83 percent.
It's a huge gain in comparison to Net Applications data which shows that Windows 8 market share grows to 2.6 percent in February
