Difference between Adobe Flash Player Plugin and ActiveX?

While uninstalling unwanted programs from my PC I saw 3 Adobe's programs:

Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX
Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin
Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5

I need Adobe Flash for video streaming sites but can I uninstall ActiveX and Shockwave Player? Do I need them for YouTune and Hulu? I don't remember when I installed them.
