Nvidia: 10+ hours battery life for Windows RT with Tegra 3

I'm posting it a bit late but the news is very important. Nvidia is looking at over 10 hours of battery life for Windows RT devices based on its Tegra 3 processor.

"These PCs will last all day. It's a big change."

"People will forget that the DOS prompt ever existed, even that the desktop existed."

"These will be the quietest PCs you've ever had. You will not have a fan in any Windows RT devices. That goes for clamshells, that goes for tablets."

These bold claims are from Nvidia's Rene Haas, via The Verge.

Windows 8 RTM will be build 8600 and will be compiled in August, Win8China reports. If it turns out to be true, we will all have our hands on Windows 8 by the time the holiday season comes around, a crucial time for Microsoft. The site also has uploaded a few screenshots that show off the new UI theme that will be shipping with the RTM version of Windows 8.

A new document has been laked that describes "Xbox Surface". The tablet will come in the 7-inch class size with 1280x720 resolution, Bluetooth & Wi-Fi, and a host of other features that you can see in the image above.

2K Games's latest action adventure game Spec Ops: The Line is set to release on 29 Jun 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. It's a third-Person modern military Shooter in a vertically oriented world, devastating sandstorms which can be used in combat, a variety of multiplayer modes and maps, and deep support featuring two factions.

A playable demo of Spec Ops: The Line includes "portions" of two early chapters of the Spec Ops campaign, which sees Captaign Martin Walker search for Colonel John Konrad and his missing battalion through a war-torn Dubai.

Mozilla announces Junior, Webkit browser for iPad!

Mozilla is working on a browser for the iPad called Junior. Mozilla said it wants to make browsing "more fun, more ergonomic" and hopes to re-think the browsing experience "from the ground up." As with almost all third-party browsers on the iPad, the app will be based on Apple's built-in Webkit framework, the same one that underlies Mobile Safari.

Mozilla showed off the browser in a recent presentation by the Product Design Strategy team. Mozilla's iPad browser will be a full-screen experience that tries to de-clutter the UI by ditching the address bar and tabs at the top. Mozilla has replaced the familiar tool bars with two main buttons, located towards the bottom of the screen. The buttons can be used to perform six operations like print, forward, and reload.

AppOff-Configure Application Compatibility Check

We all knows that Windows Vista and Windows 7 has a feature "Application Compatibility" using which we can run old softwares which are compatible with old windows version but are not compatible with newer version you are using.
Windows always checks in application compatibility database whenever you run a program which slows down your system performance but what if we switch off this feature of windows. Then we got a faster system performance. For doing this task I made this utility "AppOff".

You just simply need to Download the application > Open the application > click on Turn Off.
If you want to revert the changes simply again Open the application > Click on Turn On.
It automatically detects the status of "Application Compatibility" and enables the required button.

Features:

Very very small in size.
Enable or disable the required buttons automatically.
Also shows current application compatibility status.

After "GlassOwnership" I re-view my opinion about ownership. I guess I should not let people take the ownership on folders and whole directory trees. It can kill OS, really. If you take ownership on WinSxS, Windows will die.

I made new utlity. Its TakeOwnershipEx. Features:
1. Take Onwership on file or multiple files
2. You can restore default rights and owner on files.

When you execute "Take ownership" command, applications reads file's NTFS permission and backup them. Then it set local "Administrators" group as owner and give them full access. "Restore ownership" command restores rights from backup.

Russian and English languages avaliable. Supports Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Microsoft has unveiled their own Microsoft Windows 8 hardware tablet - that's also a PC. Meet Surface!

Specs:
  • 9.3mm.
  • 1.5 lbs.
  • Full size USB 2 (USB 3 on Pro).
  • Beveled edges at 22 degrees.
  • magnesium case.
  • PVD finish.
  • Hi-res, ClearType, 10.6 inch display.
  • Built-in kickstand.
  • Built-in stylus.
  • Gorilla glass.
  • Magnetic connected cover - that doubles as a keyboard. Available in both touch and tactile variations.
  • Full Office and desktop support.
  • Available in both RT and x64 (Surface Pro) versions. Pro is powered by a Core i5 Processor. Both have the same chassis.
  • Surface Pro has edge venting, you'll never block it with your hands.
  • Pressure sensitive, Digital Ink support.
  • "This surface has two digitizers. One for touch, one for digital ink. It sees the proximity of the pen and stops taking hand inputs."


Price will be made close to availability, hopefully Microsoft can be aggressive with it, but we're looking at Ultrabook range for the Pro Surface and iPad like pricing for the RT Surface.
